API Equality-LA is launching its exciting API Photo Contest! Snap pictures during the holidays at exotic locations wearing your API Equality-LA T-Shirt and explain to us why this location is important to you, or why LGBT equality is important to you.

We are looking for striking digital images highlighting the diversity of supporters with compelling stories. How would you photograph this? Photographers are invited to take pictures anywhere in the world while wearing a red API Equality-LA shirt (in order to obtain a shirt, you must have participated or volunteer at an API Equality-LA event) that depict API Equality-LA’s cause and mission. We welcome innovative photographic interpretations of this topic. Your images may show landmarks, portraits of families or individuals, natural landscapes, or people interacting.


Deadline

Online entries can be uploaded starting 12:01 am Pacific Standard Time on November 6, 2010. Deadline for submitting entries is 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time on May 22, 2011.

Entrants must submit a paragraph about the story behind the photo anytime on or after November 1, 2010. The paragraph must have at least 30 words and no more than 100 words. Finalists will be announced on January 31, 2011. Public voting for the Grand Prize Winner will be held for a two-week period to begin no earlier than January 1, 2011 and to end no later than January 28, 2011. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on February 12, 2011 at The API Equalty-LA 2011 Chinese New Year Banquet.

There is a limit of one vote per person for each photo.

The winner of the contest will get fabulous prizes. Hurry, this contest ends Tuesday, January 4, 2010.
