Political party in Indonesia suggests state-sponsored gay cure therapy

The Islamic United Development Party (PPP) recommends LGBT are cured in programs covered by social security.

The deputy chairman of one of Indonesia’s political parties has given a warning about LGBT people in the country and suggested that they could be ‘cured’ under state welfare.
Deputy party chairman Tamam Achda  called on the public, including educational and religious institutions, to be aware of LGBT issue and said: “We warn family institutions to be aware and to protect young generations from the dangers of LGBT.”
He suggested that that a state-sponsored “healing program” was necessary.
“We recommended to the government that an LGBT healing program could be covered by the BPJS[Indonesia’s social security agency],”  Tamam Achda said during the party’s national leadership meeting at the Haj Dormitory Building in East Jakarta on Monday as reported by tribunnews.com.
He also said that the government should introduce a law making LGBT illegal.

Ignorant homophobia. There is no "cure" because there is nothing that needs to be cured. Now, if there was a cure for hate, on the other hand....

It'd sad that people believe this nonsense. Lack of knowledge (ignorance) prevails.
6. 2016-11-24 23:16
We need a cure for ignorant religious fools.

It is alarming how institution- and Islamic-sponsored homophobia is spreading in Indonesia, while homosexuality used to be an absolute non-issue. See also this chilling article
