Watch: President Obama criticizes Kenya over LGBT rights

The US and Kenyan presidents differed sharply in their at a news conference on the first full day of Barack Obama's visit to Africa

Visiting his father’s Kenyan homeland, US president says ‘bad things happen’ when governments get into habit of treating people differently

Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta said Kenya did not share the same values.

Mr Kenyatta described the question of gay rights as "really a non-issue" in Kenya, saying that the country needed to concentrate on other areas "that are day-to-day living for our people".

Kenyata... "gay issues are a non issues". Try telling some terrified gay teen that it's not an issue. If it's not an issue, there'd be no issue passing an equality law then, would there? Asian countries have much in common with his view.

I remember from the news, the Kenya's President also said, "Even they (referring to the LGBT) wanted to be treated that way..."

How ridiculous!

Just imagine if white people telling him "black men issues are a non-issue"... how would he feels?

Two black Presidents, one with sky-high EQ, the other with bottom-hell EQ!

Great from Obama.

Equality for those that respect the law.

Objectively speaking, I don't find Kenyatta explicitly expressing contempt for glbt people in his speech...he did say "glbt rights are a non-issue...FOR NOW' in Kenya because they're focusing on developing the country, esp for the inclusion of women in the workforce and public life participation. and he did mention.."only AFTER we have these solidly in place, do we, then, focus further development of other causes, that includes glbt rights."

Sensationalist reporting from fridae.
