Even in his semi-exile from Hollywood, Mel Gibson is still capable of making a gripping action film like How I Spent My Summer Vacation. Here, "Mad Mel" plays a conman who gets hauled into a corrupt prison complex and manages to survive, prosper, and do some ass-kicking and even dispenses some justice of his own.

A singer dissatisfied with the pressure-cooker world of Taiwanese idols absconds to a quaint provincial village populated with genial locals for some alone time in Snowfall in Taipei. It's all you ever wanted as an Asian film fan — a masterpiece from Wim Wenders done as a fluffy Taiwanese drama!
