Over the years, Alanis Morissette has been a true musicial chameleon who has changed up her style and artistic point of view to reflect her evolving take on love, life and the immaterial things that truly make a difference.

In a sit-down interview with the folks of Walmart Soundcheck, the singer openly speaks about what it's like for her to be a mother, and how that experience directly impacts her work and writing.

Filmed on an exclusive set in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley on a searing hot August day, the Canadian pop rocker also performed songs from her highly-anticipated new album, titled "Havoc And Bright Light." Together with her full band, she plays a soaring rendition of her fantastic new single "Guardian," plus she throws in a few of her classics as well, including "You Learn."

Morissette also explains that "Havoc And Bright Light" particularly is an album that sums up many of her experiences over the years. "As a teenager it was more pop and dance music that I was writing with huge, big hooks," she explains. "And over the years, it has been slowly integrating all of my favorite sensibilities and this new record is really culminative in that way. In nails every sonic soundscape that I live for."
