Hailing from Michigan's 'Rock City' of Detroit - home to Diana Ross, The Supremes, The Stooges, Smokey Robinson - is 21 year old new pop sensation Alex Winston. Winston's unique and refreshing sound navigates influential pillars as diverse as Feist, PJ Harvey, Arcade Fire, Lykke Li and Dolly Parton.

Classically trained in opera and bred on Americana, Alex's music roots descend from Detroit. Her father bought her a guitar when she was just seven years old, and they would sit in the basement for hours practicing chord progressions and listening to songwriters like Carole King and Laura Nyro.
