For art film lovers and political/history buffs, drop everything
and head straight to Cathay Cineleisure for the extraordinary and
gripping German film, Downfall.

It's the first picture on Adolf Hitler made by the Germans in 40
years, and it's perhaps one of the most exemplary pieces of cinema
you can find right now.

Set in Hitler's secret bunker ten days before he commits suicide,
it portrays the emotions and deeds of the wretched ruler as he watches
the complete collapse of his evil Nazi empire.

Played by the venerable actor Bruno Ganz (On Wings of Desire),
Hitler is shown as a shuffling, twitching, screaming madman —
but also a human being filled with vanity, love and self-pity.

A powerful and enigmatic film, it is probably Downfall's
version of Hitler that you'll remember more than any other depictions
of him.
