Firewall

Director: Richard Loncraine

Starring: Harrison Ford, Virginia Madsen, Paul Bettany

Screening: 2006-04-11

Firewall stars Harrison Ford as a good and hardworking
bank manager who loves his wife (Virginia Madsen) and kids. But
one day bank robbers barge into his home and order him to go to
his bank and open the safe, or else his family will die. Harrison
seemingly obliges, but at the crucial juncture he manages to outsmart
the bank robbers and save his family.

Forgive us for telling you the whole plot, but you could have told
it yourself in your sleep. It is the familiar plot of hundreds of
other old-fashioned action movies, bearing not the slightest bit
of originality. Firewall is dumb, tiresome and predictable.

And as much as we love Harrison Ford, he does not seem to be doing
all that much acting here besides looking like tired, annoyed, suspicious
and distraught. Stay home and surf the TV channels. You will find
better things to watch than this.
