Many experts predict that Jamie Foxx will win the Oscar for Best
Actor for his unforgettable performance as the late jazz and soul
musician Ray Charles.

And indeed, Jamie's transformation into the blind musical genius
is truly remarkable: The wildly swaying body, the toothy grin, the
globe-wide smile and the fingers flying over the piano keys are
spot-on.

Also nominated for Best Picture, the movie does not shy away from
showing how flawed Ray was, that he was a heroin addict and also
a bed-hopping slut. (Of course, we queers can emphatise with the
second part.) Yet, our awareness of his failings and fallibility
only serve to help us appreciate his music and artistry even more.

If you have good taste in movies AND music, watch Ray
before you watch anything else.
