The Grudge

Director: Takashi Shimizu

Starring: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr, Clea DuVall

Screening: 2004-10-19

Alright you scream queens and lily-livered lesbians. It's time
to look for your more macho partners and venture into the dark cinema
for this Hollywood remake of Japanese horror hit Ju-On.

There has been no early preview of this film for critics, so Fridae
can't tell you if it's any good. But we will do so in the next newsletter.

In the meantime, suffice to say that this film has been produced
by Sam Raimi (the director of Spider-Man and Spider-Man
2
), who was so scared after watching the original version that
he bought the rights to remake it.

He also hired Takashi Shimizu, the director of the original series,
to direct the remake. Sarah Michelle Gellar plays an American nurse
working in Tokyo who stumbles onto a mysterious and fatal curse.

Hmmm... Sarah in a nurse's uniform — can you girls say no?
