Feel Good with Kate Monroe at MOS Singapore, Mar 26
3 Mar, 2006

Fridae is back with a party in Singapore after a one and a half year hiatus. To be held at the newly opened 40,000 sq ft Ministry of Sound, Feelin' Good will feature hot favourite Kate Monroe who burnt up the dance floor at Nation in Phuket last year.

Singapore – Fridae will kickstart its unprecedented lineup of events in 2006 with a party in Singapore at the club that everyone's talking about - the newly opened Ministry of Sound (MOS).

Featuring hot favourite Kate Monroe who brought the roof down at Nation.V in Phuket last November, the Aussie DJ is set to burn up the dancefloor at the new 40,000 sq ft MOS which opened in December last year at the newly revamped Clarke Quay.

The club is the world's biggest MOS establishment. Designed with unique in-house structures, it boasts an avant-garde multi-million dollar sound system audio, and a visual effects system complemented by digital imaging projectors and special effects machines.

Fondly dubbed Australia's First Lady of House, Monroe has been at the leading edge of dance culture for over a decade and has been repeatedly voted one of the top 20 DJs in Australia and by Inthemix and Juice Magazine. She has also made regular appearances at Australia's premier events including the Harbour Party in the Domain (Sydney), Field Day, Winterdaze, The Prince (Melbourne), Platinum (Gold Coast), Family (Brisbane) and Red Raw (Melbourne) or her residencies at Sublime and Queer Nation at Home Nightclub. She has supported numerous international DJ Legends when they tour down under, including Derrick Carter, Bob Sinclar, Tracy Young, Masters at Work, Jose Padilla, Victor Calderone, Eric Morillo, Alan Thompson and Jason Herd.

Canadian writer Claudy Rockelle recently wrote in To Be magazine about Monroe's set at Nation: (H)ave you heard of Kate Monroe? Yes, that pretty fun-loving girl has swept my heart. A refreshing change to what we in North America always hear. She definitely had the crowd cheering. So, if you're a music aficionado, don't forget Kate Monroe, ... a tough act to follow."

Victor Chau, the editor of the trendy gay Gmagazine in Hong Kong, who was at Nation last year has this to say about Kate: "She's just a goddess for gay parties!"

"She's the best DJ I've even known. She is popular among gay people for a good reason: she knows how to manipulate our dance swing with her great music collection. Her music is very fab and melodic - not the kind of hard beats that would only appeal to hardcore dancing queens. She would also dance with the crowd, making her one of the friendliest DJ's I've ever met."

In addition to her music credits, the affable DJ is also known to Australians as the host for Out & About on Australia's Fox 8 and the Internet broadcast of Mardi Gras for three years.

Feelin' Good will be Fridae's first event in Singapore since August 2004's Nation.04. In the ensuing year and seven months, Fridae Events has been expanding in the region, with sell out parties in Bangkok (Squirt), Phuket (Nation.V) and Taipei (Snowball) last year.

Eager for a Fridae party in his own "backyard," Sam, a 28-year-old Singaporean, couldn't contain his excitement when news about Feelin' Good broke.

"It's great to have a Fridae party back in Singapore again! Travelling overseas to party is great, but there's nothing like partying at home!"

Partygoers from the region are also expected to come to town for the party. Patrick Sun of HX Production, the leading party organiser in the Hong Kong gay party scene, says he is excited to visit Singapore again - his last trip to Singapore was during the Nation party in August 2004.

Other Fridae events in 2006 include Squirt in Bangkok from Apr 14-16 and Nation.06 from 20-22 Oct in Phuket. More details will be announced closer to the dates.

Tickets to Feelin' Good are available online at SGD$20 (SGD$15 for 18-24 yo) and SGD$25 at the door (SGD$20 for 18-24 yo).
