Watch: Asia’s Biggest Gay Pride Parade held in Taiwan

Ten of thousands turned out to celebrate the lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender community in Taipei on October 31

Around 78,000 people took part in the 13th Taiwan LGBT Pride event, with supporters waving rainbow flags and handmade placards calling for marriage equality as they circled downtown Taipei.

Many hoped presidential elections next year bring to power a pro-gay government that will legalise same-sex marriage.

In 2013 the DPP introduced a gay marriage bill to the legislative Yuan but it has been shelved due to lack of support from the ruling Kuomintang party.

First held in 2003 with a few hundred people, Taiwan LGBT Pride has grown to become the biggest Gay Pride parade in Asia.

The theme of this year's parade was "no age limit"
