Singapore personal data breach: 14,200 medical records of people living with HIV from all over the world leaked

Singapore government authorities confirm the leak, saying a US man deported last year had had unauthorized access to the information and had possession of leaked medical data and personal information of 14,200 people living with HIV. 

The leaked data included names, identification numbers, phone numbers, addresses, HIV test results and medical information.

 

HIV advocacy group, Action for AIDS (AFA), said it stood ‘with all whose private information may have been accessed and violated’. ‘Action for AIDS is deeply troubled by this incident that has the potential of damaging the lives of persons living with HIV and their loved ones,’ AFA said in a statement.
