Gay Uncles Day is a thing, and definitely something worth celebrating.
Since around 2016, Gay Uncles Day has been widely celebrated on the second Sunday in August – it’s a great way of recognising the diversity of our families, and also the important contribution that queer men make to family life.
That means that in 2022, Gay Uncles Day will be on Sunday 14 August – mark it on the calendar now! It probably should be a national holiday.
