Hong Kong Pride cancels 14 November Rainbow Market at Central Market

The organisers say the venue booking fell through, but they are still working on new arrangements. A separate members-only event on 7 November is unaffected.

Hong Kong Pride has cancelled the Rainbow Market scheduled for 14 November at Central Market after losing the venue, according to a statement dated 15 October.

The organising committee said it had secured confirmation in June, paid a deposit in July and announced the booking on 31 August. It said Central Market later explained that an administrative error had resulted in two events being booked for the same day.

The committee is still trying to arrange an event and will publish any new plans on social media. For people who have already arranged time off or travel, those updates will be the place to check before making further plans.

Since 2021, Hong Kong Pride has organised an indoor Rainbow Market in place of its annual parade, the committee said. The cancellation affects the 14 November event; a separate members-only gender-friendly fitness showcase on 7 November is still going ahead.
