Singapore talk explores queer-affirming therapy on 6 November

The evening session at Proud Spaces brings the code’s creators together with social-service professionals, volunteers and allies.

Social-service professionals, volunteers and allies can hear from the creators of Singapore’s Queer Affirming Therapy Code of Practice at Proud Spaces on Friday 6 November.

The LGBTQ+ Support Network’s Safe and Sound Bites fireside chat runs from 8pm to 9.30pm, with doors opening at 7.30pm. The venue is at 243 Alexandra Road, BS Centre #05-03. All times are Singapore time.

The organisers plan to discuss what queer-affirming therapy means in Singapore, why a code matters and how its principles can guide day-to-day work with LGBTQ+ clients.

The code’s August 2026 edition makes adoption voluntary. Written by a workgroup from Queer Therapists of Singapore and Oogachaga, it puts clients’ choices among its principles and rejects efforts to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

The evening offers a chance to discuss those principles with people who helped write them. Book through the organiser’s Eventbrite page.
