nation.V special report: the nation party

The fifth annual Nation party, which is considered the region's largest gay party, attracted some 2,000 attendees. Held at host hotel Crowne Plaza's ballrooms, the crowd was treated to DJs Kate Monroe (Australia), Manny Lehman (US) and a special greeting specially recorded by Madonna for Nation.V.

It's the event of the year. Set on a glitzy DJ station with a "V" LED backdrop, DJ Kate Monroe has proven to be worthy of her title as Australia's First Lady of House for winning the hearts of the people. We all love you, Kate!

Not sure what the dress code is? Just look at Christine (left) and her friends. In a masquerade of cowboy bling-bling with animal prints and cocktail feathers, these Hong Kong representatives easily take the title of best-dressed party animals.
"Hey boys, you better be dancing 'cause I'm watching you," said Madonna in a specially video recorded for Nation.V. Played rightafter DJ Kate Monroe's set, partygoers cheered and danced to her new "Hung Up" music video, which is now already a global sensation, before Manny Lehman came on.
One of the most amazing visual highlights in this year's Nation is the laser show. Dancing queens flock to the risers and stare into the rays of light to feel the bewilderment of this party enhancer. The main party finished off with Manny Lehman's harder beats that transport head-swinging creatures to the after hours party, Insomnia.
