Spider Lilies (刺青) has become the first Taiwanese movie to win the Teddy Bear Award for Best Gay/Lesbian Film at the Berlin Film Festival.

Directed by Zero Chou (周美玲) who is known for her award-winning feature debut Splendid Float (艷光四射歌舞團) about the lives of drag queens, Spider Lilies is one of two lesbian films - the other being Reflections - now showing in theatres in Taiwan.

Chou's second feature stars pop star Rainie Yang playing a cybersex webcam girl who pursues an older tattoo shop owner / artist (played by Isabella Leong) who has repressed her feelings in an earlier lesbian relationship.
