Listen to Tim Sheff "Burn Out Bright"

If you're looking for something upbeat to accompany your lazy weeked routine, you must hear the soulful, feel-good piano pop by handsome crooner Tim Sheff.

The New York based singer and multi-instrumentalist recently got signed to Manhattan Records/EMI and will bring his soul to the masses very soon. But don't consider him a newcomer. Sheff has enjoyed Billboard chart success as both a songwriter and producer for artists like Shania Twain, Kathy Mattea and Doug Stone. Now, he is finally putting all his experience, skill and talent to work for himself as a solo artist.

Sheff is working with acclaimed producer Neil Dorfsman on his big label debut. Dorfsman won Grammy Awards for his work on albums by Sting, Dire Straits and Bruce Hornsby.

Inspired by Donny Hathaway, Steve Wonder and "any music with soul,"  Sheff is a little bit John Legend, a little bit Gavin De Graw, but mostly himself.  One of my favorite Sheff tracks is "Burn Out Bright" with its emotive string section that fits his gifted vocals and piano-driven melody perfectly. But also listen to the very soulful and catchy "Cry," that will have your feet tapping along.

You can stream both tracks here.

What I particularly like about Sheff's music is that it has this all-American vintage, authentic feel to it. Sheff is not some cookie-cutter talent, but the real deal. I look forward to hearing more from him.
