For the first time since its inception in 2001, NATION.03 festivities will now include three events over the Singapore National Day weekend. In addition to the main event held on August 8 at the Musical Fountain in Singapore's resort island of Sentosa, a welcome party will be held on August 7 at Why Not bar and a poolside recovery party at Big Splash (a water theme park) and Tunnel club, on August 9.

Described by many as the "Mardi Gras of Asia," NATION has broken ground and set records for gay and lesbian parties in the region. Attracting some 1,500 partygoers in 2001, and 2,500 in 2002, NATION is easily the largest party of its kind. The international press hailed NATION as "Singapore's coming out party," and even the local press came out in support, calling NATION "Singapore's unparalleled alternative party" and "A party not to be missed!"

"NATION is no longer 'just a dance party.' In three short years, NATION has evolved into a major celebration of social diversity and acceptance. In recent years, Singapore as a country has moved towards being a society highly tolerant of diversity, and Nation reflects this shift in mindset. The Singapore GLBT community is both grateful, as well as very proud, to be able to celebrate National Day in this manner, with the rest of the country, without shame or fear of discrimination." Says Stuart Koe, CEO of Fridae.com, the organiser of the event.

Tickets go on sale 1st July.
