Robots

Director: Chris Wedge

Starring: Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Robin Williams, Mel Brooks, Drew Carey, Jim Broadbent, Stanley Tucci, Dianne Wiest

Screening: 2005-03-08

We'll always be grateful to comedian Robin Williams for defending
SpongeBob SquarePants (opening 17 Mar) against the bizarre
anti-gay comments made about the innocent cartoon character.

But gratitude aside, Robin is also a good reason to watch the new
animation Robots. In it, motormouth Robin lends his voice
and wacky humour to the hilarious robot character, Fender.

Directed by Chris Wedge, who brought you Ice Age a few
years ago, Robots centres on a young mechanical being called Rodney
(voice of Ewan McGregor) who dreams of meeting his hero —
the master inventor Bigweld.

Rodney embarks on journey to search for his idol, but along the
way he also makes new friends and discover many truths about life.

Like Ice Age, the animation here is top-notch, taking
you into a wondrous world inhabited entirely by robots and other
mechanical objects. A must-see for animation fans.
