Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous

The first Miss Congeniality movie was a hit in Singapore
back in 2000. The comedy starred Sandra Bullock as tomboyish cop
Gracie who quickly learns to act like a elegant baton-twirling babe
in swimsuit when she has to go undercover as a Miss America beauty
contestant.


In this second film, Gracie has become very famous for saving the
beauty contestants from the bomb threat and is now touring the country
promoting her book. She is gradually getting rusty at shooting,
karate and all other aspects of police work. But when the pageant
winner Cheryl (hot blonde Regina King) and the emcee Stan (William
Shatner) are kidnapped, Gracie springs back into action to save
her friends.


The first film was never that good to begin with, and the second
is even worse. Lots of jokes get rehashed, and the pratfalls just
keep coming. Although Sandra is truly a congenial and likeable actress,
she can't save this second-rate second film.
