It is almost impossible for transgender Chinese to access gender-affirmative health care, Amnesty International said on Friday (10 May).
Thirty-year-old Huiming from Hangzhou in China was rushed to the emergency room after she attempted to perform surgery on herself. ‘I was scared because I was bleeding so badly, I could die right there’, she told Amnesty International for a new report into transgender rights in China.
A new report found widespread discrimination, a lack of information and restrictive requirements prevent access to care. The barriers are pushing transgender people to seek out black market hormone treatments and even operate on themselves.

In the states, we fight over which bathrooms people can use... like that is important and matters! And now we have government officials saying if you are raped or molested and get pregnant.. you must keep the child even if it is YOUR body and you dont want the child.
