Since Meg Ryan lost her title as The Most Adorable Woman In Hollywood
years ago, many Hollywood sweethearts have been vying for the throne.
But Drew Barrymore could well be successor, judging by her ease
in doing romantic comedies including The Wedding Singer,
Never Been Kissed, 50 First Dates, and now, The
Perfect Catch.

She plays a business consultant whose charm and brains make schoolteacher
Jimmy Fallon weak in the knees. He is so impressed with her that
he declares: "Anything I'd say about you would be an understatement.?
They fall in love?and then, baseball season arrives.

Jimmy abruptly stops being the romantic hero and turns into baseball
fanatic who ignores his girlfriend completely�Of course, if this
has been a romantic comedy about two dykes, this would not have
been an issue.

Still, The Perfect Catch is charming romantic comedy that
hits its marks again and again. Directed by the Farrelly brothers
— who put yucky men's fluid on Cameron Diaz's hair in There's
Something About Mary, and who made Gwyneth Paltrow fat in Shallow
Hal — there's enough sweet humor and sentimentality in
the movie to help you get through the week.
