The Alibi

Director: Matt Checkowski, Kurt Mattila

Starring: Steve Coogan, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Selma Blair, James Brolin, Sam Elliot, Jamie King, Sharon Lawrence, John Leguizamo

Screening: 2006-05-02

The naughtiest, sexiest comedy of the week is definitely The
Alibi
. With hot bods like Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden (both
from X-Men) and Jamie King (Pearl Harbor) frolicking
about in various states of semi-undress, how could it not be?

Cool Brit actor Steve Coogan plays the boss of a secret agency
which helps you cheat on your lover. So if you were planning to
be unfaithful to your partner, Steve would be the guy you hire to
schedule all the arrangements so you won't get caught red-handed.

Apparently, American statistics show that 1 in 4 husbands cheat
on their wives, while 1 in 10 wives cheat on their husbands. So
Steve's business is doing very well. But chaos ensues when one of
his clients (studly James Marsden) accidentally kills his mistress
(sexpuss Jamie King) in a bout of S&M, leaving Steve to cover
up the crime before the cops come sniffing. As various hitmen, gangsters,
jealous husbands and horny wives enter the fray, the laughs pile
up.

If you are the sort of movie-goer who hates serious art films (and
there are plenty of them this week), this fun and irreverent bedroom
farce promises to be a hoot. Besides, who can resist a shirtless
James Marsden or a cleavage-baring Rebecca Romijn? The Alibi
will warm your loins and tickle your funny-bones.
