The silliest, most illogical film of the week is The Seeker: Dark is Rising.

Very poorly adapted from Susan Cooper's award-winning fantasy novels, it tells the tale of a boy (Alexander Ludwig) who finds himself chosen to fight the forces of darkness, led by Christopher Eccleston. In order to find this battle, the boy must locate and gain possession of the "six signs".

Ineptly directed by David L Cunningham, The Seeker: Dark is Rising feels like a poor man's version of the Harry Potter films. It stumbles from one action sequence to the next with nary a thought for story logic or character depth. Even the effects look second-grade.
