Dan Levy joins cast of beloved queer series Sex Education

Our faves are all returning for Season 4, but there will be some changes.

As filming kicks off, the streaming giant announced Friday (19 August) that the Emmy-winning actor will be playing Thomas Molloy in his first live-action TV role since Schitt’s Creek.
Molloy is a famous author who will tutor Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) as part of her study abroad scheme at an Ivy League college in the US.
“Welcome, Dan Levy as Mr Molloy. (Yay, David!!!),” Netflix UK and Ireland’s Twitter account said, sharing photos of Levy behind the scenes with Mackey.
“This is what you’ve been waiting for. We’re back, bébés,” the Sex Education Twitter account added.
Dan Levy said: “Sex Ed. Season four. VERY serious news.”
Levy will appear as a recurring guest star alongside six other new faces: Thaddea Graham, Marie Reuther, Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, and Imani Yahshua. Netflix, however, is keeping tight-lipped about who the characters are.
A still confirmed that Asa Butterfield and Mimi Keene will also be returning as Otis and Ruby respectively.
Ncuti Gatwa (Eric), Gillian Anderson (Jean), Aimee-Lou Wood (Aimee), Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson), George Robinson (Isaac), Chinenye Ezeudu (Vivienne), Dua Saleh (Cal), Alistair Petrie (Michael) and Samantha Spiro (Maureen) will all return for the upcoming season.
But four characters won’t be. Patricia Allison (Ola), Tanya Reynolds (Lily), Simone Ashley (Olivia) and Rahkee Thakrar (Emily) have all confirmed they’ve said their goodbyes (for now).
Fans handled the news Levy is joining about as calmly and collectively as you would expect.

Netflix has revealed season four of Sex Education will follow the closure of Moordale Secondary School, with the teens being thrown into Cavendish Sixth Form College. It’ll be quite the “culture shock” for them, the company said.
“They thought they were progressive but this new college is another level. There’s daily yoga in the communal garden, a strong sustainability vibe and a group of kids who are popular for being … kind?!” Netflix said.
