If Shutter is a horror movie for mainstream audiences,
then Saw is a grisly film for hardcore slasher fans.
It contains the sort of bloodied limbs, gruesome corpse and twisted
madman that lovers of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre would
approve.
Shot on a low-budget by young Australian filmmakers Leigh Whannell
and James Wan, it stars Whannel himself as a photographer and Cary
Elwes as a doctor who wake up in a large bathroom to find themselves
chained to pipes. There is a dead body in the middle of the floor
and an assortment of dangerous objects.
The two stranger are then instructed by a psychopath to perform
grisly acts, including sawing off their own limbs, if they want
to save their lives.
Watch this on an empty stomach.
