If for whatever reasons, you don't like big-budget Hollywood films,
then we strongly recommend that you catch the very good Korean arthouse
romance Green Chair.
Based on a true story, it stars Seo Jeong as an attractive 32-year-old
woman who is romancing a beautiful 19-year-old boy (first-time actor
Shim Ji-Ho). However, the age of consent in South Korea is 20. When
she is found out, she is arrested and imprisoned. Despite being
vilified by the public, she returns to be with him after she finishes
her prison term.
Hmm...loving someone special despite public prejudice? We GLBs
can certainly relate to that. The film is pro-choice and pro-sex,
and is easily one of the most challenging and intelligent romances
you'll see this year.
A must for art film lovers.
