The Fog

Director: Rupert Wainwright, Debra Hill, John Carpenter

Starring: Tom Welling, Maggie Grace, Selma Blair

Screening: 2006-02-14

You might have seen the 1980 horror film The Fog on TV,
about a bunch of people running away from zombies who hide in the
fog. Not very impressive, is it? So why the hell did Hollywood decide
to remake this B-grade horror picture in 2005? They have run out
of ideas, that is why.

The lovely Selma Blair plays a radio DJ, who suspects that the
fog creeping up on her town carries a curse. In fact, the fog carries
with it the spirits of a capsized ship from 100 years ago. Selma
Blair's performance is alright, but it's hard to distinguish actors
Tom Welling (from Smallville) and Maggie Grace (from Lost)
from the walking dead.

The 1980 version of the movie was lousy. This 2005 version is even
lousier.
