As an LGBTQ couple in Taiwan, Jennifer and Sam have faced various family and social challenges. But many of Jennifer’s HSBC colleagues were there to support her on her wedding day.
Jennifer revealed how her parents didn’t acknowledge their relationship and refused to attend the wedding. “My parents are strongly against it,” said Jennifer. “Whenever my father sees Sam, he will push her out and tell her to get lost.”
So the bank's country CEO, John Li, walked her down the aisle on her big day.
