KL's pink megaball update

An update from PT Foundation, the organisers of The Pink Megaball 2002 to be held on April 19 in KL.

The organisers of the Pink Megaball 2002 have released more information about the party to create HIV/AIDS and community awareness and to raise funds to run HIV/AIDS awareness and sexuality programmes for the gay and lesbian community.

The following is a press release from PT (Pink Triangle) Foundation.

The Pink Megaball 2002
Theme: Back to Retro
Date/time: 19 April 2002 (Friday), 10pm onwards
Venue: Backroom KL

Prepare yourself for the pinkiest and biggest party of the year - The Pink Megaball 2002, the party to celebrate the rich diversity of the community, brought to you by the community volunteers at PT Foundation, still affectionately known to most as Pink Triangle.

Staged at the Backroom KL, the party is themed Back to Retro, an excuse for aging queens to feel at home among the young ones. Expect a special segment of Diva Music from the 80s and 90s. DJs from Velvet and Liquid will of course be playing their music for the rest of the evening so you can club till early morning.

The highlights that make Pink Megaball special remains to be our Show Spectacular featuring raunchy numbers from J Lopez to diva classics performed by the evergreen Pinqettes storming back to action after a long hiatus. Bedazzled by a special performance by a group of gregarious chubs, and multi-ethnic dances and cabaret acts from the TS community. New acts are still coming in as you read this first teaser... rumour has it that some local celebs are gate-crashing the party...hint, hint.

Come in party attire... sequins and tattoo... a bit of imagination to bring out that creativity, and dare, in all of us!

All these for a good cause - to raise funds for PT Foundation to fund their HIV/AIDS and sexuality programmes for marginalized groups in Malaysia.

Admission is by a donation of RM40 at the door, or RM35 in advance at at any of these places (effective 5 April) - PT Foundation, Bujian Busan Cafe, Liquid, Manatus, My Place Restaurant, Rahsia Bistro, and Velvet Dance Club.
Admission includes first drink.

Admission also entitles patrons to discounts and special privileges to community-friendly hot spots. Watch this space for more details to come.
