Houston-based DJ Michael Tank and Australian Alex Taylor will play at SnowBall at Suntec Singapore on Dec 27 and the Meltdown Recovery party at China Black on Dec 28 respectively.

The second annual SnowBall will be held at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Saturday, December 27, followed by the Meltdown Recovery party at China Black on Sunday, December 28.

SnowBall promises stunning decor, wall-to-wall sound, spacious rest/chill-out areas and visual projections that will blow the most experienced circuit partygoer away. With a capacity of 5,000, organisers are expecting a greater response than last year's event.

Spinning at SnowBall is Houston-based DJ Michael Tank, who is set to have the house grinding with his trademark "diva grind," a blend of tribal beats and high-energy vocals. The 33-year-old, who started out in 1998 at Houston's Pacific Street and Sundays at Rich's, is now a weekend resident at South Beach, one of the city's prime gay venues. Since then, Tank has played at numerous venues including San Francisco Pride, Dallas Pride, New Orleans Mardi Gras, Universe in San Francisco and Blu in Atlanta.

The Meltdown Recovery party will be held the following day at ChinaBlack. A well-known DJ in the Australian scene, Alex Taylor will bring his uplifting funky, progressive house beats to ChinaBlack, a club located in a penthouse in downtown Orchard Road. The versatile DJ has consistently been part of the line-up of every gay dance party in Australia including Mardi Gras, Sleaze Ball, Queer nation and Melbourne's ALSO Foundation parties. He had also notably played at a private party for Madonna during her '94 Tour of Australia.

In August 2001, he headlined a gay night called "Scandal" at Ibiza's Pacha nightclub and was invited to do a guest spot at the infamous Space nightclub alongside DJ's Carl Cox, Sasha and Steve Lawler. Taylor is also known for co-mixing the Ministry of Sound Clubbers guide to 2003 album with DJ Tall Paul.

Based on previous events such as Nation, up to 30% of SnowBall's attendees are expected to be visiting from abroad, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan and Malaysia. Nation, which was held this past August, attracted some 5,000 local and foreign partygoers as well as international media coverage including TIME Magazine (Asia), Agence France-Presse, Qnews (Australia) and numerous other media.

SnowBall is sponsored by Biotherm Homme, Bombay Sapphire, IBM and Subaru.

A very limited number of early bird combo tickets (which includes entry to SnowBall and the Meltdown Recovery party) are priced at S$55 and will only be available online at www.fridae.asia/snowball from Nov 1 to 15.Concession tickets at $30 are available to 18 to 21-year-olds, full-time students and NSF (valid matriculation or NSF card required).
