According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Richard Wolstencroft, director of the Melbourne Underground Film Festival told the paper that he intends to stage a ''public disobedience freedom of speech event'' by screening LA Zombie on August 29 in defiance of the federal censor.

The movie by American director Bruce LaBruce, was scheduled to appear in the Melbourne International Film Festival, but on July 20 it was refused classification by the Classification Board, meaning it could not legally be screened in Australia.

''I've got Bruce LaBruce's support,'' he was quoting as saying. ''If the police turn up and physically stop me, what can I do? But they really hate coming to this sort of thing, they're embarrassed.''

Wolstencroft says the venue and other details will only be released closer to the date on the festival's Facebook page.

The Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF) will run from August 20 – 28 at three venues across Melbourne; the Classic Cinema in Elsternwick, Thousand Pound Bend in the CBD, and Open Channel’s Shed 4 Cinema in the Docklands.

yes I agree about lines being drawn but the thing is who decides what those lines are, there is no elected representation in the global/local homosexual 'communities' no real consensus just opinions floating around and those contrary to the fundamentalist one dimensional 'queering lobby' get violently shouted down, I guess people voting with their feet is a good responce, most of the 'gay leadership' are generally 'unrepresentative swill' who have appointed them selves as spokes people over us
