車臣總統被指控“清洗”車臣共和國內的同性戀社區，他之前表示國內不存在同性戀。

根據俄羅斯的《新報Novaya Gazeta》聲稱，俄羅斯聯邦車臣共和國100多名男子在近幾周內由於當局被秘密監禁，被拘留在秘密監獄並遭到嚴刑拷打和各種折磨。據證實至少有四人被殺。
