The LGBT community in Japan has taken the opportunity of this year’s annual gay pride parade in Tokyo to urge lawmakers to legalise same-sex marriages within the country.
While all such weddings can now take place without the threat of censure, the government will still not officially recognize same-sex marriages or provide related legal protections.
On March 2nd at an event on the waterfront of Victoria Harbour Hong Kong, well known Hong Kong LGBT community members announced the formation of Double Happiness, the first organisation in support of marriage equality in Hong Kong.
