Police make 'several arrests' in Malaysia’s gay sex tape scandal

Malaysia's Economic Affairs Minister has denied that he appears in a widely shared gay sex tape.

Police have made several arrests and are closing in on ‘an alliance’ behind a leaked gay sex tape that has rocked politics in Malaysia. Footage purporting to show Malaysia’s Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali having sex with another man has rocked Malaysia, where gay sex is illegal.
A regional political youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz last month revealed he was one of the people in the sex tape. Police previously arrested and then released him. Earlier this month, the political party he works for fired him. Azmin’s office, meanwhile, maintains that the video clips are fakes.
Malaysia’s Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador is reported by the Straits Times to have told reporters this past weekend that police were closing in on those behind the production and sharing of the sex video. Police had arrested and released several people, he said. But authorities had not found the person responsible, evidence of ‘an alliance’.
‘In this case, we have found evidence of a conspiracy and a plot by certain quarters in the production and circulation of the sex tape implicating a minister to topple someone,’ he said. He said the footage had been sent ’to the lab’ to determine its authenticity.

So, mission accomplished? The minister has been sacked.

And I'm wondering if it's an actual "tape". I'm sure very few people still own a VCR.

in Malaysia, many men married women without agreement from Government or authority.
The good purpose of this kind of marriage is to avoid Zina and to avoid bad things for the couple.

so, everybody can do marriage without need agreement of government or authority by purpose of good intention.

Another weird post from @botwildfck! Where do you find that information that you can marry in Malaysia without Government or other official authority? Because it is pure rubbish! Get your facts straiught!

Malaysia is not like Thailand where unofficial second wives are part of the culture for many older Thais.

Perhaps @botwildfck meant sirri marriage? Then surely it's no different than in Indonesia or any other moslem country.

He may have done but sirri marriage is not common in Malaysia other than between the millions of migrant Muslim workers - all from Indonesia where sirri marriage, although unlawful in some parts of that country, is still practised.

Or he may be referring to unregistered marriages in general e.g. between Malaysian and migrant workers from China. But since he mentioned 'zina' he probably meant marriages between moslems. Dunno which.

Sure, people "can" marry without being registered in the sense that those people can consummate their marriage and live together daily as husband and wife, but in another sense they also "can't" because they do not get the same rights at all.
