Two gay love birds flew to the church to get married in Shanghai

On 24 January in Tai Cang Road Shanghai, people witnessed a handsome chap propose to his boyfriend in as romantic a way as you can see in most movies.

He went down on bended knee (which he didn’t seem to have practiced as he trembled) to show the diamond ring in a purple gift box to his future male wife.

His partner who was in shock and holding a handful of blue roses, gently accepted the ring and kissed his groom in the public street in hanghai.

The news comes from the most popular social media in China - Weibo, which is similar to Twitter. The post writer is Thumbstopper, a gourmet based in Shanghai, the most international city in China.

The post has already been retweeted more than 68,000 times, liked by over 42,000 and commented on 26,000 times.

“Gals are totally shitting theirs pants off after knowing that men are chasing other men” commented an experienced male reporter WeiLai.

“Ewww! How come all the tall rich handsome guys are gay in Shanghai!! Outrageous!!” one female single woman wrote.

“I am going to propose to my bf tonight in bed, with my thong on” one happy gay man retweeted to another male user of weibo.

It has aroused a massive debate on whether gay marriage should be legalized or not in China after this kind of news became popular in social media. Homosexual groups are receiving more attention from the public in China, especially in the gayest Shanghai city.
