Taiwanese Pop-star A-mei Holds Free Concert in Support of Same-sex Marriage

Taiwanese pop superstar A-mei performed a free concert in support of same-sex marriage on Sunday to the delight of nearly 20,000 fans.

Fans of Taiwanese pop singer A-mei queued for over 6 hours to attend her concert in support of same-sex marriage in Taiwan. The concert was held at Huashan 1914 Creative Park on Sunday evening and was free to attend.

The wind and rain did not put off fans who enjoyed A-mei’s hits including  ‘Sisters’, ‘Can I hug you lover?’ and of course ‘Rainbow’. A-mei told the crowd that she had three points to make: “First, love. Second, respect everyone’s love. Third, support true love.”

Not only was the concert completely free for fans, the singer made no sponsorship deal and footed the entire bill herself, estimated at 100,000 US dollars. Organizing the concert in just 11 days, A-mei stated on her facebook page that she “wanted to cheer for every single heart that is defending true love … This is a small effort I can make as a singer.”

The 41 year old singer and LGBT equality advocate was the first to sign a petition for same-sex marriage in Taiwan. A draft bill to legalize same-sex marriage and also allow gay couples to adopt children is moving through the Legislative Yuan. Last month, however, tens of thousands of people took to Taipei’s streets in protest of the draft bill.

Ah Mei has successfully braved thru her wishes to the equality of love and make the world heard her messages. Her move was against all odds be the first Asian singer to do such concert :)
Besides her boldness, I realised the participation of the crowd and freedom of speech were much more liberal than here. Such concert can nvr ever stage here even there might be singers and celebraties willing to give charity performance.

1. gay marriage is not mandatory but choice.
2. Gay marriage just compliance with faith to God, not to Hollybook
3. Not all small ants can breed, only those queen and King
4. Gay /LGBT single and unmarriage are positive too
You See, How straight people that in marriage and having children?
They can not focus totally to jobs because their time devided.
5. I had worked in a factory
- I have no miss to home
- My mind and heart did not devide to other things
- There was not missing to see children
- There was not missing to meet partner
- What I miss everyday just machines and how to make manufacturing will work better.
- Waking up, always want to arrive in factory quickly and forget to took shower sometime...hahhahha.

6. So, there is not so negative if you are gay/LGBT have no legal marriage.

7. some people want Hollybooks rule because it is easy, just copy and paste it. no need to think/to work more.
But must see the result.
If you wrong in adoption of Hollybook, there will be war/ terrorism/ conflicts/ Hate/ Discrimination/Etc.

8. See that chapters of Hollybooks contains many faces that contradictive.
9. See last chapter of Hollybook that you can not change by add or remove the verses. Making another interpretation the same as changing the verses.
Written in Hollybook : A
your interpretation last year is : B
Next year interpretation is : C
3 years later interpretation will be : A ( back as written)

I'm so proud of A-mei. She's a great mandarin-pop singer and the greatest celebrity LGBT equality advocate in Asia.
She sets a good example and became a popularly strong celebrity LGBT-support role model in Asia, especially among the Chinese LGBT community in the region.
Bravo, bravo to A-mei and also Taiwan, may the magnificent 'rainbow-force' will always be with you, and transmitting across Asia...
