EM Forster never wrote a novel after A Passage To India because his first homosexual experience at the age of 38 sapped his creativity, according to a new biography.
Speaking the same week as a play he is producing opens in New York, Sir Elton John told The Sunday Telegraph that a former lover threw himself to his death under a passing lorry because he could not reconcile his homosexuality with his Christian beliefs.
