Organisers report that a lot of straight lgbt allies joined the 8th annual LGBT pride parade on Saturday

Following a tip-off, the police raided a gay party held in a bungalow in northern Mumbai early on Sunday and detained 133 people – including several celebrities – on the charge of indecent behaviour, two party organisers for not having the requisite liquor licence, and the DJ for not having the licence to play music beyond permissible hours.

India's largest queer Film Festival is underway in Mumbai with a line-up of 124 films from almost two dozen countries.

  About 2,000 people took to the streets of Mumbai on Sunday for the city's annual and second Pride parade, the first pride parade held in India after the Delhi High Court in July ruled that outlawing gay sex acts was discriminatory and a "violation of fundamental rights."
