Despite South Korea's reputation for churning good creepfests like
A Tale Of Two Sisters, director Jeong Yong Ki doesn't impress
with his debut effort.
This so-called horror film begins with the past: A doll-maker makes
a beautiful life-like doll for the woman he loves. When the woman
is murdered, the doll-maker is wrongly accused and subsequently
killed.
The movie now moves to the present, where five people have gathered
at an art museum to pose for a mysterious doll-maker. After a lot
of small talk, they start to die one by one.
Whatever. Even though Korean chicks and twinks have a tremendous
appeal in this country, this movie will make you yawn, snigger and
scratch yourself a lot. But you won't be trembling with fear.
