Boogeyman

Director: Stephen Kay

Starring: Barry Watson, Emily Deschanel, Skye McCole Bartusiak, Lucy Lawless

Screening: 2005-03-08

Despite the slick and fast-paced trailer you might have caught
on TV or in the cinemas, the actual movie sucks (and swallows) big
time.

Boogeyman stars Barry Watson (the doe-eyed hunk of TV
series 7th Heaven) as a young man whose father was swallowed
up by a closet 15 years ago. After reading that sentence, do you
really want to know the rest? Er, okay....

Returning to the house where the closet stands, Barry tries to
unravel the mystery of his Dad's disappearance. Soon enough, our
hero is fighting for his life against killer coathangers and an
assortment of other evil in the closet.

Not only is the plot idiotic, director Stephen Kay is a shameless
copycat, recycling just about every shock and scare that you might
have seen in horror movies since cinema was invented. We don't even
know why we bothered typing the last four paragraphs.
