Nope, Sin City isn't about Singapore — even if your
flight luggage tags say SIN on them. If anything, it is the exact
opposite of Singapore.

Here is a fictitious city filled with crime, corruption and depravity.
Mutilation, murder, mayhem and those awful M words take place routinely.
The men are murderers and cannibals, and the women are mostly whores.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez (El Mariachi, Spy Kids)
with help from Quentin Tarantino, the film is savage, vicious, gory,
harsh, cruel and bitterly funny. Simply put, it will satisfy every
deep dark desire you've possibly ever had — and then some.
The film is shot in black and white.

The only colors that can be found are in the red of a prostitute's
lipstick, or the baby blues of another prostitute's eyes. Like the
Star Wars prequels, Sin City is largely shot against
a plain green/blue backdrop against which the film locations were
later added digitally.

But unlike Star Wars, Sin City actually shows
how new technology and good solid storytelling can work hand-in-hand
to produce a modern classic. Based on Frank Miller's brutally violent
comic book, Sin City is by far the best comic book adaptations
we've seen this year — and that's saying a lot.

And yes, it is better than Fantastic Four or Batman
Begins
.
