The Truth About Love

Director: John Hay

Starring: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Dougray Scott, Jimi Mistry, Branka Katic, Kate Miles, Simon Webbe

Screening: 2005-07-26

Jennifer Love Hewitt (apparently surviving her I Know What
You Did Last Summer
's day to end up in the season of has-been)
plays a happily married woman who sends an anonymous Valentine's
card to her husband to see if he hides it. And when he indeed does?

All hell breaks lose, and we are not just talking about Love Hewitt's
character getting jealous like a margarita hung-over Baby Jane;
we are also talking about the plot here. That's all the truth you
are going to get from this film, and that's saying a lot.

This romantic comedy has not seen light of day in both the US and
the UK, so moviegoers here are watching this film way in advance.
It's quite a run-of-the-mill romantic comedy, but surprisingly Jennifer
Love Hewitt is the one who manages to hold the movie together.

It may not be the best example of a film in this genre, but fans
of romantic comedies will only have this film to tide them over
till Bewitched and Must Love Dogs opens.
