John and Jeremy are buddies. No darlings, not FBs. Sorry to disappoint,
but these guys sleep with girls. Moviegoers, however, will not be
disappointed with this comedy that recalls the hilarious sexual
escapades of There's Something About Mary. This one is
a winner!
Played by winsome stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, Jeremy and
John are thirty-something guys who crash weddings in order to score
with the babes. And boy, do they know the secrets to girls?hearts
(lesbian comrades, take note). From doing emo-overkill with lines
like "scientists say we only use ten percent of our brain, but I
think we only use ten percent of our hearts? to making balloon
animals for kids, these guys have made a (dis)respectable profession
out of it, having had a track record of seventeen successes in three
weeks.
That is until they decide to infiltrate the wedding reception of
the daughter of a Cabinet Minister. At the fateful event, Jeremy
targets redheaded Gloria (Rachel Fisher) while John goes after brunette
Claire (Rachel McAdams). And complications ensue.
The film draws much of its charm from the interplay between the
two leads. The facile rapport between Vaughn's rapid-fire delivery
and Wilson's lazy surfer's drawl is just simply amazing. The rest
of the cast is perfectly in tune with their comedic timing, especially
the stately Christopher Walken (who can deliver laughs simply by
breathing) who is quite the gem of the film.
This one is definitely worth the money. These swindlers are sensational!
