Ice Age 2: The Meltdown

Director: Carlos Saldanha, Chris Wedge

Starring: Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Dennis Leary

Screening: 2006-03-28

Theeey're baaaack! Our favorite woolly mammoth (Ray Romano), bug-eyed
sloth (John Leguizamo) and saber-tooth tiger (Denis Leary) return
to the screen in this sequel to the hit 2002 cartoon Ice Age.
Having survived the big freeze in the first film, the animals must
now survive another catastrophe.

This time round, the Ice Age has ended. But the return of warmer
temperatures means that huge blocks of ice will start to melt. The
animals must warn their friends to get out of harm's way, or they
will be swept up by the floods gushing down from the mountains.

This sequel is not as cute and funny as the original one. You can
expect more hip, contemporary jokes and odd-couple bantering between
the animals. But the plot and themes feel a little too formulaic
this time.
