In Asia’s first, Taiwan’s parliament legalises same-sex marriage
The Parliament voted in favor of a Government bill offering same-sex couples rights similar to those enjoyed by opposite-sex couples. The bill passed with 93 lawmakers voting for the bill, 66 opposing, and 27 abstaining.
This is great news, but without the word "marriage" in the bill, this is nothing better than "separate but equal". The ruling DPP were cowards not to stand up to the conservatives.
From what I have read the wording of the new law does indeed include the word "marriage". It permits same-sex couples to form "exclusive permanent unions" and apply for "marriage registration". To me that is more than clear.
Taking a step to try something you’ve never done before or have but failed in it, is always a huge risk. Either you fail again or you elevate to the next level but first thing first, you must take the step of risk. Tell me what amount of risk do I have to take to get to what’s rightfully mine; and I will tell you how much ready I am to risk even my own life for it……
