Don't miss this homoerotic drama about Francesco, an Italian architect
who inherits a Turkish bathhouse in Istanbul from an aunt he didn't
really know. While he is married and ostensibly straight, he slowly
becomes drawn into the world of bathhouses and some of its peculiar
ways.
Director Ferzan Ozpetek is no stranger to gay-themed films, and
you might have caught his beautiful arthouse film Facing Windows
recently. Ozpetek does a great job of evoking the spell of the ancient
city of Istanbul, and showing how a straight man may be seduced
into exploring a different side of his sexuality.
The film garnered rave reviews at film festivals and was nominated
for Most Outstanding Film by Gay And Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation
in 1999.
