After last year's profound and exquisite Spring, Summer, Fall,
Winter...And Spring
, South Korean director Kim Ki Duk is back
with a beautifully spare and unusual tale of romance called 3-Iron.

It stars Jae Hee as a homeless young man who breaks into people's
houses when they are away on holidays. But instead of stealing things,
he makes himself at home by doing household chores like cleaning,
watering the plants, and repairing broken household appliances.

One day he breaks into a seemingly empty place, without realising
that the beautiful but sad lady of the house (Lee Seung-yeon) is
still inside. She has imposed a form of self-exile after a quarrel
with her violent-tempered husband.

But as she watches the young man move casually about her home,
she becomes a gossamer-like apparition that the man at first cannot
see but can feel the presence of. A strange and inseparable bond
develops between the two.

Using a minimalist and dream-like style, 3-Iron explores
the nature of attraction and intimacy; unspoken love and longing;
and spatial, spiritual and metaphysical transcendence.

The only must-see of the week.
